Fighting Sin

Until the day we die, or the Lord Jesus returns, we will fight sin. The relentless forces of Satan, the world and our own sinful corruptions ever oppose the cultivation of holiness in our daily lives.

Where do we find hope in this battle, particularly when we often fall?  We must ever look by faith to the person and work of the Lord Jesus and the abundance of mercy and holiness found in Him.

When you find yourself burdened under the guilt of sin, let me encourage you to read, meditate on, and pray through the following passages (among many that could be noted):  Psalm 32; Psalm 51; and 1 John 1:5-2:2.

God is holy, sin is serious, but Jesus Christ is a mighty Savior. The Puritan Richard Sibbes said it well, “there is more mercy in Christ, than sin in us.”

Press on in this hope, Beloved!

    Pastor Greg:
Thank you for your faithful preaching and leadership there in Sacramento and on the web. Having been there at a Philippine coalition meeting a couple of years ago I know your work is sincere and that “the Bible, the whole Bible and nothing but the Bible” is more than false advertising with you. Thank you for standing with our Lord in the Truth War.
